Family Pathways Volunteers

Youth Services VolunteersFamily Pathways provides Youth Programming and Activities in the communities in Chisago, Isanti, Pine, Kanabec, and Mille Lacs counties.

Youth programming is geared to build assets in youth that will provide them skills necessary to grow into caring, healthy adults. Volunteers bring experiences, a listening ear, compassion and a willingness to share life lessons, all things so valuable to build assets in youth.

To help Family Pathways light that spark in youth, call to see where you can help.  Whether you have an hour a week or a day, the youth will benefit from your time.

Teen Centers - open 5 days a week, volunteers help with homework, teach or help with crafts or cooking, play games or talk with the youth about their "Spark".

Circle of Friends - volunteers needed are youth peer mentors and adults to help at the activities to provide supervision and assistance.  Peer mentor buddies help special needs youth build social skills and broden their circle of friends with youth in their home towns.  Groups meet twice a month in the following school districts: Forest Lake, Chisago Lakes, North Branch, Pine City, East Central (Sandstone), Mora, Cambridge/Isanti, Ogilvie, Hinckley/Finlayson and Princeton.

Kids First - adult mentors are matched 1:1 with youth.  Mentors spend, on average, 4 hours a month with the youth with whom they are matched. Only have an hour or so?  Buddy Lunch Mentors eat lunch at school once a month with their buddy.  Not ready or able for a 1:1 match? Adult volunteers help with group activities twice a month for youth who are on the waiting list for a mentor.  Kids First is presently in the Mora area, reaching out to Ogilvie, Brook Park and Grasston.

Coordinator's Assistant - volunteers are always welcome to help Youth Coordinators with events, activities, cleaning, mailings, entering data and doing special events or promotions.
